Dr. Ursitti has been part of the New Paltz Animal Hospital team since October 2008. Growing up in New York City, she now happily resides in New Paltz. She undertook her veterinary studies at the Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine, earning her DVM in 2008. Prior to attending veterinary school, Dr. Ursitti has been in the veterinary field since 1995 as a licensed veterinary technician. She worked with the Wildlife Conservation Society at the Bronx Zoo, Central Park Zoo, and Brooklyn Aquarium. There she worked with various species including whales, walruses, and sea lions, as well as other diverse zoo animal inhabitants.

Dr. Ursitti moved from the big city to a small town to develop lifelong relationships with her clients and patients. Her medical interests include exotic pet and avian medicine. Outside of work she enjoys kickboxing, yoga, hiking, mountain climbing, crocheting and reading. She also happily spends her time with her many loveable pets: a Bernese Mountain dog named Belle, a Shih Tzu named Rocky, two African Grey parrots named Sundance & Ginger, and a Solomon Island Eclectus parrot!
